Reconstructed (Again) / Labradorite & Sterling Silver Necklace
**CHAIN UPDATE: Choose your length!**
A chunky teardrop of labradorite with extra flashy yellows, greens, and blues sits nestled to the side of an oval walled border with hammered wire notches. A forged triangle peaks out from the bottom, leading down to a dangle of 5 different types of chain, three of which are were handmade. On the top sits two more forged triangles, one folded over on top of the stone acting as the bail. All of this sits on thick rolo chain, length of your choosing, leading up to a handmade hook clasp.
This necklace was a mistake and a lesson. I had almost finished it once but cracked the original stone in half while setting. After wallowing in the despair of losing 4 days of work + this week’s paycheck, I kicked my creativity into high gear and decided to give the setting new life instead of starting over. With a different stone and determination to create something beautiful out of something broken, I’m proud to show you a necklace that I think ended up better than the original. It is, for me, a much-needed reminder that all hope is never lost. Plus, now I have a cleanly broken stone to make a separate work of art (you know how I love my broken stones)—stay tuned!
