Broken Up About It / Broken Purple Labradorite & Sterling Silver

You know what they say--when the world gives you a broken stone, you make broken stone necklace! This beautiful purple labradorite came broken in the mail but I couldn't give up on it so easily. From the rubble emerged the (Un)Broken necklace: a dark labradorite, which flahes hues of purple in the light, is bezel and prong-set on top of Silver dust-textured sheet. All of this is torn in two and stitched back together. The pendant hangs from a handmade beaded wire chain.
 
This necklace feels like a physical representation of my life at the moment--there is a lot that is making me feel broken and torn apart but I keep trying to stitch back the pieces and move forward whole. I guess that's what all of my art is about, really; it's just resonating with me more than ever right now. I'm hoping that this necklace gives its new owner strength!
